The Philosophy of Hillcrest Christian Academy is to establish, maintain, and operate a Christ-centered academic institution. Christian moral values and conservative, evangelical beliefs, based on the Word of God, express the nature of HCA. Biblical and Christian principles are incorporated into all aspects of the age-related school curriculum.

Jesus has given us a Christian education mandate. It is “to make disciples, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). Hillcrest Christian Academy is in partnership with parents and the church to diligently teach God’s Word and God’s will to children on a daily basis, along with developmental educational pursuits. (Proverbs 22:6)

Our philosophy of education recognizes that man is intellectually and spiritually corrupt due to sin, has historically omitted God from educational pursuits, and has developed a secular basis for interpreting life and the world around him. But God has provided a way through regeneration by faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ.

The transforming power of the Holy Spirit, taught by Christian teachers and school leaders, begins to work in children, and their minds are opened to the truth of God as revealed in the Bible. This truth becomes the basis for their worldview, and a growing personal knowledge of Jesus Christ, which must be a primary goal of Christian education. (Ephesians 5:1)

Integrating faith and education is not just an academic experience but also a sanctifying one, as the teacher and student grow in their understanding of Christ as Lord of every area of life. It is the desire of Hillcrest Christian Academy to develop and live out Biblical character qualities, which glorify God in obedience and service.
