Many area families had much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, thanks to the efforts of Student Council and Hillcrest families.
During the week of November 14, Student Council collected 785 food items donated by Hillcrest families, including 77 cans of yams, 212 boxes of stuffing, 214 cans of pumpkin, and 273 cans of evaporated milk. Pastor Rick Kardell picked everything up on Friday, November 18. There was so much of it that students from fifth grade through 10th grade had to help to bring it out to the van! All the foodstuffs were taken to the South Hills Assembly food bank to be distributed to needy families in time for Thanksgiving. Thank you Student Council for being the hands and feet of Christ!
