HCA Promise Plan

Teaching Minds. Training Hearts.  Investing in children for eternity.

The HCA Promise Plan hinges, of course, on a promise.  The motto above represents only the beginning of our journey.

How we teach minds and train hearts, and how we mold the children of today into the academic and spiritual leaders of tomorrow—this is our journey, and this is where our promise lies.  A promise to be innovative, a promise to be creative in our methodology, a promise not to rely on what we have done in the past when we look towards the future.  It is a promise to be academically strong, athletically competitive, and spiritually centered in Christ.  And it is a promise to be a place that offers value to your family’s life, a value that lasts through this life and into eternity.

Promises Kept

From Nursery through our brand-new ninth grade, Hillcrest Christian Academy offers a complete educational experience.  Here are just some of the things HCA offers to its families:

.Promises of Value

Part of our commitment to our families is to provide the best education possible at the best possible value.  That’s why we have five separate programs in place that can effectively reduce your tuition:

1. Tuition Supplement Program

The Tuition Supplement Program at Hillcrest Christian Academy is funded by Pennsylvania’s Education Improvement Tax Credit Program. This program allows certain companies and corporations within the state to donate their taxes to the school of their choice instead of paying them directly to Harrisburg. We have partnered with several companies already, and are happy to offer scholarships to our families based upon income, assets, and debt.

To see if you qualify, click here to access the PSAS Student Aid Application. Print and complete the form and mail it to the Private School Aid Service at the address on the application.  They will make recommendations based upon the application submitted, and direct PennGift Foundation or ACSI to release funds designated for our school through the donating organizations. Your child must be enrolled at HCA before you can apply for the Tuition Supplement Program.

2. Dr. Kenneth O. Barbour Merit Scholarship Program.

Each year we will be selecting up to ten students who embody the HCA sprit and vision of Teaching Minds and Training Hearts. Students are encouraged to apply if they feel like they fit the criteria for academics and service on the Dr. Kenneth O. Barbour Merit Scholarship Application.  All entries will be judged by the Promise Plan Team, and every year, up to ten $500 scholarships will be awarded to the winners, to be credited in the following school year.

3.  Dr. Barbour Promise Plan Scholarship Program

Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances in your life that make it difficult to afford full tuition.    If you don’t think you will qualify for the Tuition Supplement Program and if the Merit Scholarship doesn’t apply then this scholarship program is where you need to turn if you would like us to consider your particular situation.  The Dr. Barbour Promise Plan Scholarship reflects the heart for families that Dr. Barbour, our principal from 2001-2010,  had always exemplified.  Just a few simple questions on the application is all it takes for the Promise Plan Team to consider reducing your tuition obligation.

4. HCA Referral Program

This is an easy program for everyone.  All you need to do is refer a family to Hillcrest Christian Academy.  When they interview with the Principal, they will fill out an information form.  On that form will be a place for your name as the person who referred them.  If that family is accepted and enrolls at HCA, a $100 tuition credit will be applied to your tuition in January of that school year for every family that enrolls.   Click here for a handy guide you can use when talking to your friends about HCA!

5. “Gift Cards For Credit” Program

The Gift Cards For Credit Program is a great way to reduce the cost of your tuition! By purchasing gift cards for your everyday shopping and encouraging others to do the same on your behalf, you can earn up to the entire cost of your tuition! A percentage of each gift card purchase is credited toward your tuition for the next school year.

Gift cards are purchased and redeemed for the full face value of the card. The tuition credit is paid for by the retailers who desire your business!

You can drop your order off in the office any day throughout the week, but make sure it is there no later than 9:00 a.m. on Thursdays. (For Order Forms, click here.)  Pick up your order the following Friday from 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. at Entrance D. You can also purchase extra gift cards at this time from our limited inventory. (For Cash and Carry forms, click here.)   Cash and Carry cards are sold on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30-9:00 AM.  Please check the Friday Folder for announcements regarding changes in order/pick up times due to the holidays and school closings.   Click here for Program Guidelines and Rules
